Biography

Wang Xiaoni was born in Changchun, Jilin, China. She spent seven years as a laborer in the countryside during the Cultural Revolution. She later worked as a film script editor and college professor. Her publications include more than twenty five books of poetry, essays, and novels. In 2015, her book Something Crosses My Mind (translated by Eleanor Goodman) was shortlisted for The Griffin Prize For Excellence In Poetry.
